New Balance TWO WXY V5 "Blast Red"

New Balance has been hitting the nail on the head since re-entering the basketball sneaker market in 2018. The Boston brand has assembled an applaudable roster of talent that now includes the consensus number one pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg, and while Kawhi Leonard owns New Balance’s only signature basketball sneaker to date, the Fresh Foam BB and TWO WXY series have a long list of ambassadors.

With the WNBA season coming to a close and the NBA season approaching in the coming months, New Balance is capitalizing on consumer attention with the release of the fifth installment of the TWO WXY series on September 13. The TWO WXY V5 promises to revolutionize the basketball sneaker market with its standout features and vibrant design.

The TWO WXY V5 differs significantly from its predecessors. The rear of the shoe immediately catches the eye thanks to a protruding oval structure that houses the New Balance branding.

• Topographic Pattern: The midsole features a topographic pattern in the style of Fresh Foam BB.
• TPU Overlay: A layer of TPU curves upward from the lateral profile around the rear, adding support and stability.

The upper of the TWO WXY V5 features a well-thought-out design for optimal performance on the court.

• Mesh Sole Overlay: Provides adequate ventilation.
• Caged TPU: Adds stability without compromising flexibility.

While full performance specifications have yet to be revealed, basketball fans can expect some of the best technologies used in previous editions:

The Los Angeles Sparks' Cameron Brink has worn the V4 throughout the 2024 season, and she may be one of the first to break out this new model sometime this month.
